Invalid Contours on 4 of 10 Slots

All -

I am trying to drill 10 slots in a model.  All of the slots are identical.  6 of 10 generate toolpaths.  4 of the 10 error (Invalid contour(s)) when I try and generate the slots.

I need the tool to enter at the center point on one side of the slot, go to cut depth, travel the length of the slot and then exit at the end of the slot ( so I don't think that a pocketing toolpath is an option).

I have tried re-drawing the slots.  I have tried redrawing the slots and re-extruding the bodies.

I'm at a loss.

I've highlighted the 4 slots that won't generate in red and the 6 that will in green.  The toolpath is called slot6 in setup 1.

Any assistance would be helpful.

Question, are you using a normal 3 axis machine? Or are you using one where the table is vertical ie on it` edge ?

If it is a standard 3 Axis machine then your Setup is needs adjusting, see image for the slots which BTW you have a 1/4in tool for a 1/2in slot, is there a reason for this ?? File attached.

Also when you upload a file do it as a Fusion f3d format file, do it by going to :-

File > Export > Select f3d format > Save to a location on your computer > Then attach it to your post.

@engineguy - thanks very much for taking a look.  Would you mind sending the file again?  I'm not seeing any changes in the set up.

Best,

Scott

@engineguy   I think it is one of those it works for you but not other's problem it is failing to gen all slots for me, what do you mean by Question, are you using a normal 3 axis machine? Or are you using one where the table is vertical ie on it` edge ?

For me, it is the slot with the arrow failing.

I have found doing a fresh setup and toolpath works fine.

Apologies, worng file uploaded.

Back in the 80s there were some Routers that were vertical to save floor space, image of one such machine below made by Denford in the UK 🙂

Yes, it is the Setup that needs correcting.

One trick I've adopted when dealing with the Slot toolpath and it's failures; turn on Tool Orientation and align to one of the edges in the failed slots. 9 times out of 10 you will get a valid toolpath, and it doesn't effect the output code any:
