Inexplicable Performance Drop When Selecting Chains for Trace

I'm selecting the edge chains of some extruded text, in preparation for tracing them in CAM, but every time I select a chain Fusion 360 freezes for a full 45 seconds. I checked Task Manager, and (as you can see in the video), there seems to be no reason for this slow down. None of my resources are even close to being stretched. Also, it's only Fusion that's frozen. Nothing else on my computer seems to be having a problem.

Video of it is here, though it's not very interesting.

Granted, my video card is very, very old, but it doesn't seem to be strained at all by this task (merely selecting the edge chains.

What are your overall system specs?

Edit: I see from the video your CPU is boosting to at least 4.14GHz so not that old... How many selections have you made in that toolpath? The more that are made, the slower Fusion seems to go in my experience.
