in process stock generation

G'day all,

I have a problem with Fusion when I try and do a simulation. It shows a simulation error, which I have attached and then the program crashes.

I have read as much as I can about turning on IPS and as you can see by the 2nd attachment, I don't have the option at all!

Any help would be appreciated.

If I understand you correctly, I've had this issue before. Simply regenerating the operations  or sometimes even just the first one has worked for me. Then wait till all the operation status icons go from  to .

Just to clarify, make sure Automatic In-Process Stock Generation is turned on:

I haven't tried to do the regeneration, but I'll give it a try.

The "Actions" icon (in that picture) is not on my version of Fusion. If you have a look at the images that I uploaded, you'll see that option doesn't exist.

You should be able to fine the "Actions" if you go to the "Utilities" tab:

Or you can press the "S" key and search for "Automatic In-Process Stock Generation".

F8 is the shortcut, but its not necessary for In Process Stock to work in your setups.

F8 toggles the "Display In-Process Stock" on and off. This does not affect simulation but has to to with displaying it in the canvas when you select an operation(outside of simulation mode).

I think @mfork is asking about simulation.  The "Automatic In-Process Stock Generation" on/off toggle does affect simulation.

As you can see, I have no option for turning on/off the Actions or a Utilities Menu.

I haven't modified the menu bar at all, so what am I missing?

In the picture, you are in the milling tab. Go to the the "Utilities" tab and then find the "Automatic In-Process Stock Generation" toggle button under "Actions".

Now this is embarrassing, I never knew that you could "click" on the heading (of the icon).

Now that I know how to do that, it should make life easier 🙂
