Importing Tool library via google sheets

Hey all. I'm trying to tidy up my tool library and have exported .cvs to Google Sheets. Exports great, but if I make even 1 change to the file and try to upload it, I get the "failed to import tool library".

Any help would be most appreciated. I'm sure it's something simple.

I have no problem with it, I changed a name and it imports nice.

So the question is, what have you tried to change?

It will depend on what you are changing. It should be possible to edit values, but if you make any change to the layout, column names or basically anything other than strictly the numbers in the cells it may well no longer be a valid tool.

If you want to make bulk or automated changes to tools in the library from external software, you may find it easier to do so via the API:

Thank you both for the input!! I believe I found the cause as mentioned above. It was because I adjusted the columns in Sheets, and that caused the failure at upload.

So I guess my next question would be, is there a way to adjust the columns in Sheets (for convenience) and then put them back as per the original export prior to reimporting into the library? I have tried that on my end, but it fails each time, even though it looks like nothing has changed.

@stephen Irvine, that's probably the best solution to use the API but it way beyond my computer skills.  🙂

Attached is new library where I simply changed all of the holders. It works, but I've not made any adjustments inside of Sheets.
