I don't want to clear material around model. I want to shave some time off of my manufacturing. I am doing a adaptive cut but it takes everything. I don't want to do that bc its extra unneeded steps bc I am doing a profile cut and they are not connected after that cut.

Hi, welcome to the Forum 🙂

Usually best if you upload your problem file, easier to see what is happening with the settings 🙂

One thing that may help is to set a "Bottom Height" to the level that you want to machine down to.

Or, you can constrain the toolpath by setting a Boundary for it to machine inside.

To upload a file go to :_

File > Export > Select f3d Format > Save to a location on your computer > Then attach it to your reply

Looked at your file, see images below, image one gets you image two, are these closer to what you need ??

If close then I will leave you to do any "tweaks" needed for speeds/feeds/stepovers/stepdowns etc, etc  🙂 🙂

Select the actual bodies in the Setup instead of the "CAM Root" and only use the "Stock Contours" for the Boundary and no "Rest Machining", not needed for this Operation 🙂

File attached.
