How to Limit Tool Angle on Swarf

Hi,

My CNC machine, an SCM Accord 500, has a B axis limit of 190 degrees, meaning it will go from plumb, to 5 degrees past horizontal on either side.

I often use swarf to cut the tops of curved surfaces, and frequently run into situations where if I attempt to swarf it in a singular pass the tool angle will exceed 5 degrees from the horizontal. However, it is almost always possible to break the sweep into two operations where they meet on opposite sides.

It can be extremely difficult to try to figure out were/if the tool exceeds 5 degrees in angle, and breaking up the geometry in that perfect spot is also difficult.

Is fusion cable of setting this tool axis at a maximum value or at least telling me when it's exceeding 5 degrees?

Example swarf where the tool exceeds 5 degrees from the horizontal, but it is possible to break up the cuts into two operations is attached.

Hi

Its not possible to set axis limits for swarf.

Do you use machine simulation?, that would quickly show up any axis over travels

Wouldn't it make sense to make a fixture that position the part at 90 degrees from the Z-axis?

I'm sure you can split he operation somehow, but isn't it preferable to machine in a single pass? You have the range, but because you start at 63 degrees you are running out by the end.
