How to get engrave simulation to look more realistic?

I am testing out the engrave feature of Fusion 360, and have created a V-bit at 60degrees.  I can then run the simulation, but they way it looks when I select the "display stock" item, is I see the cutout, but it only extends like 1mm deep, so I can't see the fact that it is a V-bit.  Is this a limitation of the simulation, or am I missing an option.

Set the view style to wire frame

Yes this worked, but why?  Seems like a bug, that all the other views including the other wireframe variants don't show the depth.  Workaround or otherwise it worked.  Thanks.

it's probably showing the model underneath the vcarve.

(and since it's likely the engraving isn't actually modeled, when the simulation runs, the flat-topped model is blocking your view of the engrave)..

anyway, hide the model then try again.

(select it and press V key or use the lightbulbs in the tree at top left)
