How to create a chain selection

Hi, I know that inside the toolpaths, I can creat a chain selection.

But I want to create the same chain outside the toolpath.

Im creating a lot of boundary using selecting set, by faces or edges. That way I can rename and find it later to use instead of looking each has used that boundary.

The same applies to face chain selection.

For example, in design, when creating a offset surface, it has a chain option.

Would like to know if you guys know how to do it

Creating a chain outside of a toolpath setting is not possible. However, you "could" make some sketches that reflect what the chain would look like. Create a plane at the orientation you require, create a sketch on said plane, project the edges you wish to use as your chain. You can now select that sketch as your chain. However, it's a crap shoot as to whether it will be an inside or outside chain, so you may need to toggle the red arrow.

Otherwise, you CAN also select boundaries from existing toolpaths. When it comes time for a selection, navigate to the toolpath that has the contour you want to use, click the dropdown and select the boundary/contour.

There are no other methods at present to manage contour/boundary selections, nor is it possible (yet) to rename them.

Would be great to have a option to rename a boundary after being used.

Or using chain selection outside the toolpath

The idea of "renaming the selection" is something that we'd like to support at some point. However, the UI is not currently built for that concept, so it may be some time before we have that sorted out. I, too, would like a "selection manager" where I could store/preload/manage a bunch of chains
