How to align extrude to existing taper angle?

Dear community

I've recently started with Fusion 360 (and 3D design in general). Trying to open up a "slide slot" using a taper angle and a bit of pushing, I keep coming across a problem: When I try to extrude additional material, I can't manage to have it match the existing angle.

Sorry for the unprecise description, I do lack some jargon..

Any help is much appreciated

I think you can only extrude element in direction of its original orientation, to change the configuration you need to create new geometry in desired orientation and use extrude with join or cut and angle features to integrate it into current design.

OK, good to know, thank you! Your suggestion made me think of using a projection of the angled plane and just do an join extrude - worked out absolutely fine.

Thanks for your swift help!
