How do I set a Tool's "Head Clearence"

I'm setting up a Laser Cutter. I've modeled the holder and created a tool.  Because Lase Cutters use a fixed Z, I just want to approximate the Nozzle height above the work when running simulation.  It appears that there is a setting that does this -  Head Clearance .  I can't seem to find any where to set it. Attached is a screen shot from the Info Panel when I highlighted the tool in the library.  Note that the .040 offset is present in the image and is what I see when I run simulation with all the other Z settings set to zero. I just want to change it.

It doesn't appear that this is an editable field. Are you wanting to increase this for best visibility during Simulation? If that's the case, you CAN turn off Holder display in Simulation:

Seth, thank you. I appreciate the quick response and acknowledging that there is no place to set the “Head Clearance”.   Also, for the suggestion to not display the holder during simulation

That said, I’m left wondering if this isn’t a bug.  Why would you display a setting to the user, and not provide a method for setting it? I can’t believe the designer/developer would have intend it.  In addition I assume it’s this setting that’s distancing the Holder above the work piece. If it is not, then what  setting controls this?  My holder is definitely positioned above by approx. .040.

I respectively ask that you take another look.

The Manufacture workspace is full of fields that you can't edit. A right-click "Compare and Edit" of any toolpath will give you oodles of fields that you can look at, but not change. It seems to me that since, as you described, laser heads are a fixed Z, the developers saw no need to implement an actual field to adjust. There needs to be a field to establish it's location in simulation, but it's not one that they felt needed to be adjusted.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish with adjusting the Clearance Height? If I can get more info; "the why and the what" it will give me something concrete to take to the developers and make a case on.

@bruceharrisoncsm The head clearance is in the info panel and is intentionally non-editable. The setting is 1mm or 0.040" and the value was inherited from the old library to enable simulation. I do not have a great deal of experience with these machines and currently I cannot see a reason to increase or decrease the clearance unless your material is not flat? Open to users with more experience educating me if this is an oversight and the ability to adjust the clearance will add value to the tool library.

Regards

This is editable, but you need to go to the JSON file where the info is stored.
