Every time I add a new setup to a file and pick a machine it demands to download the machine model to the project folder. I have multiple copies everywhere even multiple in the same project folder. how do I keep this from happening?

Question, do you really, really need to have a Machine Selected in your Setups ???

You do not actually need a Machine File to enable you to create toolpaths, programs etc and generate G code for your CNC Machine 🙂

you need it for machine simulation.

Still the same question, why do you need it, machine simulation doesn`t even do "Collision Detection" yet so it is really just for the most part "Cosmetic", many thousands of users have never even had this facility for 5/6 years and have worked great without it 🙂

You should have your machine saved in a "Local" folder or on your "Cloud" folder, that way you will only be selecting and using the same machine, also if you have it saved in a "Local" folder then it will be editable, machines are not editable in the Fusion Machine Library 🙂 🙂

i noticed this as a possible bug when machine simulation was turned on in the experimental features menu.  there was an update like a week or so ago and i think it started doing the same thing.  turning it off fixed it.

we have multiple machines in our shop, i use it select posts, dummy checking speeds and feeds, automate centering the table to unload, etc.

I noticed this too about a week ago.

Also, I can no longer manufacture a project without saving it. Sometimes I'd run a face routine for a piece of stock I'll never have again (it was recovered waste material) or I'll just make a quick update to something I've already manufactured but do not want to change the original document (actual example: I decided I needed to extend a lip on a clamp a tiny bit to better fit a taller stock than I normally have. I secured both clamps to the table upside down, then ran three passes with a tapered mill in a rectangular shape to achieve this.)

It does appear that I can modify setups and add setups in existing documents without downloading the machine again.

Is there a way to avoid the forced save?

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? It's driving me crazy. I no longer see machine simulation as an optional experimental feature so I can't turn it off as sbertolone said.

Fusion makes me download the machine in my setup to use any sort of 4th axis/rotary table capability. If I don't the post processor fails.

Even though I always select the machine I already have saved in my Cloud library, it downloads it again to the project folder I'm working in. This massively clutters up my folders, and I cannot delete the 10's to 100's of machines kept there as it says they are being referenced by components.

Someone please help!!

Unless there is some specific reason for needing it you do not have to select a "Machine" in your Setup, and it is certainly not needed to be able to do 4th axis work, all the settings for the Axis are in the Post Processor and can be sorted there without any "Machine" in your Setups.

So, easiest way to work if you don`t really need the Machine Simulation is to not use them 🙂 🙂

The selection for the on/off  is now  "toggled" on/off as in the image below if you didn`t already know this.
