Help with uniform tool path generation and overhang operations

Hello, 

I'm new to CAM in Fushion 360. I was trying to generate a uniform roughing tool path (wrapped around all surfaces) around a boiler. But I'm seeing that the tool path does not consider the inward slopes/ramp surfaces/overhangs. I am using 2D adaptive clearing. I tried with 2 separate stocks. Maybe there is a better way to do it. 

I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions.

Let's have a brief chat about manufacturing processes...

If you are trying to machine this in one setup (on a 3 axis machine) out of a solid piece of material, you are going to be in for a rough time. The undercut sloped surfaces are not at all accessible. You would need to lay the part down on its side to have even a chance of making this part. Further, your toolholder is crashing through the part, due to your tool not sticking out far enough.

 

Am I misunderstanding what you are trying to accomplish?

Thank you for your reply. I am not going to machine the part. I am only concerned about the tool path, with a rough offset. I want to get the tool endpoint coordinates for another purpose, so I'm not really concerned about the tool crashing into the body. I just need a wrapped tool path. It can be more than one operations. But till now I'm unable to get into the inward slopes or under overhangs.

Could you mark up a screenshot indicating where you want the toolpath to reach? I want to make sure we understand each other. You could also use the Screencast to add audio to a short video if you want

Hi,

I've attached a screenshot. I am trying to reach the slope under the model. As you can see, it just takes on the rectangular geometry over it. Here, I only have a single component; I'm also working on more complex structures with similar issues.
