Help with defining Dovetail Mill Tool

Hi Fellow Fusion 360 users,

Could use your help. I'm trying to add a Dove Tail router bit into Fusion 360's Tool Library.

The Dovetail tool is a Craftsman consumer grade 1/4" shank to 1/2" dovetail.

Cutting Edge:

Diameter: For diameter I used 1/2" to match the dovetail.

Corder Radius: I'm not sure what a corner radius is used for or how it is measured, but I guess there are some dovetails with a very slight angle, but this value is measured in inches as a radius. Finally figured out putting in 0 made it look like a sharp angled dovetail.

Shaft Diameter: Easy, as this has a 1/4" sized shank for the tool holder to grab.

Taper Angle: Had no idea what this is. You can enter anything from 0 to 89 (anything else turns off the OK button). The screenshot shows a taper angle of 20 degrees, but I found that the deeper the slot the smaller the angle. Ended up entering 14 degrees since it made the shoulder match the shank better, but I really could use some help in how to measure this.

Lengths:

Flute Length: Measure the actual cutting blade which was same as largest width - 1/2"

Shoulder Length: See previous post on figuring out shat a shoulder length mean: "Tip to beginning of shoulder" was .75"

Body Length: Measured tip to where it hits the tool holder (I like to keep a 1/8" gap from end of shoulder.

Overall Length: Measure overall length of entire tool - 2" inches

I went ahead and assigned the values in the other tabs:

Shaft - .125" by .25" by .25" (I think I might be duplicating this since Body Length covers this, but I'm unsure why Shaft would be calculated differently since it is mainly used to define shoulders.

Holder - Chose the ER25 collet I designed (originally had it upside down!). I haven't figured out if Fusion 360's G-Code understands the correct z clearance of a tool holderthe collet is inside the CNC router with only a 1/8" gap of the tool's shaft before getting to the shoulder.

If you see any mistakes or have better ideas on my assumptions, please comment!

thanks,

Stephen

taper angle should be on the cutter shank.
