Help with 2D pocketing!

Hello!

I am trying to pocket out a groove in the attached file (the groove is the teeth of the smile). I keep getting the error "

Error: Unsupported geometry for 2D Open Pocket detection!". I have tried this using 2D and 3D pocketing, as well as adaptive clearing. Any idea what is going on?

Thanks!

I tried opening your file and it locks up my computer, so sorry, I can't offer any suggestions. perhaps this morning's update has something to do with it.

Yes, it can work with the 3D Pocket Clearing toolpath, needs a slightly smaller tool, 1/4 down to 3/16 and a change to the the Tolerance. See images below and attached modified file 🙂 It "jumps around" somewhat but I will leave you to maybe "tweak" the selection order, I don`t have the computer time to keep making changes for small "tweaks"  🙂 🙂 🙂

This toolpath gets you image two! This toolpath gets you image two!

The reason for the very slow loading etc of the file is that it has hundreds of faces and is almost 13Mb in size, makes for big drain on a computers resources !! 😞

P.S. I ran this file in "Offline" mode, definitely faster for me anyway, very old 11 year computer with only a Second generation i7 processor, 16Gb Ram and Quadro 600 (1Gb Memory), old and slow, same as it`s owner 🙂 🙂 🙂
