EDIT: Wait nope, I don't think there's one in the HSM library.
@Anonymous have a look at the Haas posts here https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts? Some post have it and some do not have it yet (they need to test it before changing it) the Haas (pre-NCG) inspect surfaces post has the bit in it for it to be multi-axis it just needs to be turned on.
How do I turn it on?
You will need to edit it, you use this program https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-post-processor-forum/autodesk-hsm-post-editor-for-visual-studio-c...
There is other good info on editing post's here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-post-processor-forum/technical-faq/td-p/7473258
In addition to what @daniel_lyall has shared, here's an article on how to enable 4/5 axis functionality in your post:
Here is a video I did on setting up the parameters on the machine for inspection.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9VnOJoQbvg
Also shows where to find the post and the settings to turn on the additional axis.
That is a great vid but I do not have a ngc this is an older machine can you make a vid for this ASAP?
I have been editing it for the last week, hoping to get it done next week depending on other workloads.
Do you have a rs232 connection already on your machine?
I do have a 232 port but i am currently not utilizing it. Anyway to get the unedited version? I can be your test dummy, currently working on a very complex shaped 3d printed aerospace part that I REALLY need to use the part alignment feature to get started on.
Let me see what I can get sorted for you.
Hi @joshscott222, its going to be a while before the video is pieced together and makes sense, however i'm sure we can cover the basics on here.
I've just PM'd you the script that i used to record all my audio. Take a look through and let me know where you need some extra guidance.
In reality these are the steps to take.
1) Wire up your RS232 cable
2) get the rs232 settings form the HAAS controller
3) download putty
4) set up putty with the corresponding settings.
5) start the putty log and ru the nc code on the machine.
If you need help editing the post to turn the A and B axis on say what Axis you want turned on in the Haas (pre-NCG) inspect surfaces post.
