HELP for new ate FUSION 360 setup

Hi guys, im currentely Powermill user in my company, but we are introducing fusion in CAM parts.

i usually machine 5 axis in powermill and some small parts for older machines for rough mill.

in this case i have a few questions.

for small parts i need to machine two sides(top and botton)

should i create separeted setup for each side ? or use one setup for milling both sides?

if i create a second setup, i have to export stock and introduce in the new setup.

if  i only use one setup, i think is not necessary, but im confuse because i setup with workplane to attack from the top, then to attack from the bottom, i have to change toolpath workplane.

in powermill i use separeted workplane. so i think in fusion is better to have two setup. but dont understand why i can use previous stop instead of exporting manually.

thanks in advance.

Typically, one would use multiple Setups. Stock management is an easy task with a stock selection of "From Prior Setup" and "Continue Rest Machining"

Now, it "could" be done all in one Setup, but you're going to run into a fair bit of trouble with defining your WCS correctly. It's best to just use two Setups 🙂

If the above doesn't answer your question or you still have issues with what you need/want to do, could you share your Fusion file here?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply
