I am trying machine a pocket of text in a slanting body.  I select the pocket but it does not look like the pocket at all.

Here is a picture to help

Not exactly sure what is going on.  I really just want to mill out the text as a pocket but am failing 🙂

Have you progressed beyond just selecting the pocket? What happens when you hit the OK button?

Can you share your file here? I'm betting it's just a visual error and the toolpath should be created properly.

Had a quick look at your file, your letters have slots of 0.794mm width and you have a tool that is 0.9mm dia so it is not going to work as you want, see image below where I have used a much smaller cutter of 0.5mm dia and a Zig Zag leadin (The Red Lines) just to show it working and it works fine, image below and file attached, you are going to have to use a smaller cutter or bigger letters and you also had a "Stock to leave" of 0.5mm which also constrained the space available for the cutter 🙂 🙂
