Fusion grooving, I dread using it. Has there been any changes to the grooving algorithm in Fusion turning?

What should be easy is a pain, and seems to be getting worse.

Happy to share a part file but not publicly.

All I want to do is plunge in the centre of stock and then groove alternatively. Due to a lack of control in depths of cut, I have selected the blue face as my bottom depth, but then Fusion seems to bug out. Why?

Is this after you consumed the update that went out yesterday? There were some fixes for Grooving, but I'm not sure if they would have solved your issue..

Yes, I have "consumed" the latest update. Is that an internal term, or an
official term for installing patches and versioning up?

Yeah, an official term. I'm not fond of it, it sounds like a clinical term, doesn't it...

A follow-up so we can fill in the gaps for anyone else following this thread;

It looks like we aren't projecting any tapered surfaces to your specified Z depth and then just wiping out the remains of the toolpath. I'll speak with the Turning devs and see what's going on

And the subsequent issue of not being able to specify depths of cut when tool entry is set to center. Setting it to "Side" does give us multiple depth options.
