Haas generic post processor?? Thoughts and ways around the rapid moves

We have a vf4s at work and sometimes run into some issues of needing a little extra cam software.

Does anyone have a post processor that works for them that I can add to my fusion post library???

Any of the HAAS Mill posts will work

Are you NGC or Classic Control?

Do you want rapid moves or no? Can configure within the post

Continued reply:

Would we be able tell from another program generated for the machine via espirit (espresso) or whatever ? Different post but maybe the values will tell us??  They are older haas machines not ancient but not really new either lol

guessing they are 2007-2014ish

also next question to go along with this is. I have a marlin post processor for my Cnc in the garage that I make wood stuff with, can you have a second post processor on the hobbyist version

?

Control on the left is Classic or Pre-Next Generation Control, control on the right is Next Generation Control (the newest control)

Mainly look at the screen interface

So I think you are using the Classic control

You probably need this post

https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts?p=haas_inspect_surface

Be careful when posting and using  it on the machine of course

Are you guys changing any of the default properties in the above suggested posts for the classic control? Besides our machines being in inches and most of our programs use G00 for rapids and G01s with associated federate #. For home position generally input a G00G53z0y0x0 or use hot key G28 for all axis’s.

I haven’t changed or configured any post processors so wanna be aware should be checked and maybe give some feedback for someone to help me alter the recently suggested for classic control.

Is there any other one I should change?
also the

machine is equipped with toolsetter otr on the table and has a renishaw probe for picking up offsets.

last night I tried using guessing ngc but got a bunch of errors when trying to generate the post to look at it as a nc file

thanks for everyone’s help

I've changed some minor things in my post processor for a Classic Control Haas VM-3, also some user defined options in the Post Dialog.

If you are running into some problems I can at least try to help you alter the post processor. Can you provide sample code which worked fine on the machine. And what post are you using now?

Asked the service guy and he says ours are the legacy controller (🤷🏻‍♂️) if makes a difference

he basically told me that the classic is before the legacy controller (which classic controller should work then)

however when I viewed some of the sample codes under the pre-ngc looks a little different?
