Getting adaptive clear to remember there is stock...

I am trying to adaptive clear then parallel a large radius on a part (see images). Because of the form I created an extruded surface as geometry to use, I am also using a component I created in the design window as stock. Whilst I can get the adaptive clear to create a tool path I am happy with, it doesn't seem to want to remember that there is stock so the first cut has much higher tool engagement than the subsequent passes which all adhere to the rules I set. After several hours playing with all the various options within the operation setup menu, rest machining on/off etc. I am completely stuck. If I start using rest machining etc. it starts creating Toolpaths on other parts of my model which I want to avoid, even though I have set my boundaries.

At this point I think it is probably easier to ask... If I want to adaptive clear then parallel the surface shown in my image, how would you go about it (ensuring I can use my modelled stock and surface). Ideally I don't want to have the flick out of the surface that you can see at the bottom, I just tried that in case it worked (it didn't!). Thanks a lot.

for the benefit of anyone else coming across this- I eventually solved it by created a new sketch in the design window which was the projection of my curved surface plus some extra in the Y axis where the excess stock was (long face). I then set tool containment to be tool on centre with no additional offset. This allowed the path to generate and the tool to be allowed to access that extra stock without it trying to generate Toolpaths on the other side where my actual model is. I had rest machining (setup stock) enabled and selected my surface under the model tab within the setup window. Hopefully the image attached will help make more sense. It might not be the cleanest way to do it but was the only way I can make it work whilst still generating a really clean tool path. Other suggestions welcome!
