fusion360 gcode causing z axis to drift up during cut

z axis drifts upwards during cut until it no longer reaches the material. It starts out normally where its supposed to be and it just starts heading north??  ugs reports the numbers correctly. If I stop the program when this happens and return to zero it is sometimes 10mm above the material?? Everything glides smoothly. No slipping or steps skipping. I have bumped the voltage up and tried with no luck. Everything is tight and seems normal. This doesn't happen with any other program but fusion. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi

There is nothing in that NC code that suggests a problem, If the machine is drifting but the display is not, and when you re-zero its 10mm different its almost definitely a machine problem .

These sorts of issues appear to be pretty common with Hobby type machines, I have never experienced anything like this on an industrial machine.

There may be some settings in your toolpaths however that are causing your machine to struggle, if you could upload that file here we can take a look and see if anything stands out.

Goto File>Export>save as .f3d/.f3z

You have a helix down in the pockets but for the cut around the outside you have plunges at 39.37, is that straight into the stock full diameter? When the program's finished, is the tool moving in the holder, if not you must be losing steps.
