Fusion 360 failed when saving G Code

Anonymous
Not applicable

We have been using fusion 360 for a plasma CNC using Mach3. Recently the program stopped allowing us to export a G Code. It will save to our desktop but says it's a failed file. We haven't changed anything on our end but wondering if the program somehow changed?

Can you open up the .failed file as a text document and copy/paste the contents to the forum?

Can you also share your Fusion file? File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

I have attached the exported file, unfortunately I can't seem to open the failed file (even in a text application it won't allow it to open) Thank you!

It posts out fine for me. Are you maybe picking the Mach 3 milling post by mistake?

I may be, it does say Mach3Mill as the post processor, although I do not see another Mach3 option. Am I miss it or is it under another name? Thank you Greatly for the help!

Thank you for your quick reply, I am wondering if i am going at this the wrong way as my screen looks different than yours. I have attached a screen shot. Would you be able to let me know how to get to your screen options?

Just right click your setup/operation and pick post. You are probably going through NC programs dialog which does the same thing (and is the newer interface), post is the older interface/option.

When I right click setup in this screen shot and click post process it goes to the same window it has been when I click the post process on the top tool bar.

Where you have "generic posts" in your drop down you need to browse to "installed post" or something similar and pick the Mach 3 plasma post.
