Funny tool path

See attached, I get this sometimes. This is a 2d pocket. The path is obviously wrong. Anyone know the cause?

 

More info, it's not the tool path it is the imported part has lost the proper radius. Rhinoo file and also a stp is the same.

Can you export a sample as an F3D file and upload. There is a problem with conic splines but that is only picking an edge of a solid, it looks like you're using curves only so it should work. See this thread for an example of the conic spline problem.

Edit can you attach the Rhino file, you'll have to zip the 3dm or the forum will block it.

Back again, had to pay some bills. Attached is a png with the left curve drawn in Rhino and the right curve drawn in 360. The 360 curve produced a better tool path but the resolution is bad (how do I fix that?) the Rhino toolpath is wrong and although I can't see it I believe the curve is distorted and the toolpath is just following what's there. The Rhino file is attached. I read the conic curve issues and I think this is along those lines and I guess the fix was to draw in 360. I am trying to do that but I need to fix the resolution issue before I go anywhere with it, I guess it is a setting that I have missed? Thanks for the help!

The problem is you've extruded the slot as one surface this can cause problems with a lot of programs. What you need to do is select split at tangents when you extrude.

This is a pretty simple part, why don't you draw it in Fusion.

 

This is what I get after using split at tangents in Rhino then exporting as a stp file to Fusion.

I did draw it in Fusion but the quality was poor, what did I do wrong?

Can you export the Fusion design and attach, from the file menu pick Export and save as an F3D file.

I had deleted a bunch of files and this one included. I did redraw the pocket in Fusion and when I tried to make a tool path I got the message to report the error.

Error: Internal CAM kernel error. Please report through your support channel.

Success, a bit anyway. I tried drawing in 360 and I spent hours trying to create what I could do in Rhino in a few minutes. I extruded the surfaces from a split curve and exported the Rhino file with the surfaces not joined. Seems to have worked perfectly, at this point anyway. A proper looking tool path.

I'm not too sure what your trying to do, your file says test pocket but all you have is an extrusion no pocket. Anyway here's a screencast that demonstrates how easy it is to make a pocket or a boss. If you're struggling with sketching here's the getting started link in the help, unfortunately previous experience with AutoCAD and Rhino will be a hindrance.

 

 

I've attached the file, try editing the sketch and it's dimensions and you'll see the advantage of parametric sketches.
