Fingerpull Toolpath Issue

I am trying to cut some recessed finger pulls in some drawer fronts similar to that shown in the enclosed Fusion file and am seriously struggling. Pocketing out the central section has proved easy enough but when using the finger pull bit I'm unable to control the entry and exit points (to ensure I dont spoil the workpiece) and also to machine right up to the finger pull contour. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Mark

Turn on your Lead-out and set the radius to 5mm.

Appreciate your reply Seth. Managed to avoid a collision using your lead-out idea (although still had a collision with 5mm and not with 2mm for some reason) but when I run a simulation its still not clearing all the material in the finger pull overhang area. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? If you could modify and repost my file that would be really helpful. Thanks again

Can you share the file again, the a360 link in your first post no longer contains a model.

Just export and share the file here.

File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

You've selected the smaller inner diameter, but it's actually driving the toolpath off of the outer diameter of the tool, not the compensation point that you select when you create a form tool. Form tool creation is a bit deceptive in that regard.

Easiest thing to do is to set a Radial stock to leave of -.698mm, since that's the difference between the inner and outer diameter

Very kind Seth. I’ll take a look at it tomorrow. Last question. What’s the best toolpath to use for the small round over/filet on the outside of the part? Cheers

Blend is by far the best. I think that's still a Preview flag that needs to be turned on in Preferences though
