File won't 3D print

I have been 3D printing by using the manufacturing section of FUsion360 for about a year now with more or less the same settings. Today I spent 3 hours trying to figure out why my printer would not print. I took it apart and put it back together and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Every time I try to print my latest model it would start out priming/cleaning the nozzle with no issues but when it starts the printing path, it stops extruding filament. It moves along the path but extrudes nothing.

I finally decided to re-print the last model I had made and it printed just fine like before so I know there is an issue with the new files I am getting from Fusion360. I decided to delete the setup and do it all over again just in case there was a glitch but the newer file had the same result. I reviewed all my settings but they are no different than the previous model that did print.

I see no errors in the setup or anything that indicates that it won't print or that I can no longer use Fusion360 for slicing my models. Is there some kind of limit to the number of models you can slice if you are using the app for personal use? There has to be something in the file telling my Printer not to extrude any filament, does anyone know what that might be?

Please help, thank you.

Okay, let's see what we can do to get you sorted..

What machine and post processor are you using?

Can you share the g-code file of the code that DOES work, and could you then re-post the code for that same model using your current machine selection and post processor? I would like to do a file compare and see what's going wrong.

The g-code file might not have the correct suffix on it, just rename it to be a .nc or .txt file please, and then attach it here

Thank you for your assistance here.

Post Processor:

Both files are set up the same, this has been the same configuration I have used for the past year. The file that printed was created on 2/22/2023 and the one that doesn't want to print was made yesterday. That is only a 2-week difference and I know for a fact nothing has changed in setup during that time.

Sorry to bother you, but could you regenerate the "not printing" code for the exact part that WAS printing correctly and share that here as well? (Shelf_Lock_Right)

Not sure what you are asking me to do. I am not doing anything different other than the time period between the two prints. Are you asking me to open the file that is printing and produce another g file and send you that to see if something changed in the past two weeks?

To be clear the settings were not adjusted in this time period. I just select the same machine and print settings from the list as I have done for both models.

I recreated a new g file and it won't print as a result. Here is that file.

Some additional details for the reprint file: When I opened the model. I only selected generate from the setup->additive tool path, because it said: "it was out of date". Then I went to post-process to generate the new g file. There were no changes made to the setup between the original file and now, and now it won't print.

Thank you again for your assistance.

Yes, precisely! I want to compare g-code versions for identical parts, but returning different results

Alright, there are some differences for sure. I think I'm going to need to talk to some folks.

Could you try something out for me? Follow this link: https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts?p=flashforge

That will expand to present you with different revisions. Download the one from early Feb, as well as the one prior.

When posting, direct your post dialog to use one of those posts, and see if the problem resolves itself.

The current post was modified 3 days ago, which tracks with the issue you're seeing, at least in regards to timing...

I used the 44052 version from 2/13/2023 and had the same problem.
I used the 43981 version from 10/12/2022 and it's working again! 😀

Thank you so much! Just need one more thing... what's the name and address of the person that is pushing these new releases and cost me half a night's rest, 😏 I have a 3D print I want to send them 💣

I'll send them your love 😀

But seriously, glad you got it sorted. I'll punt this over to the Additive team and see if we can sort it out.
