Facing operation, chip thining doesn't work

I'm trying to use chip thinning/rolling into the cut when doing a facing operation, but enabling chip thinning does not change the toolpath.
I've tried several different tools, but not difference, i guess it must be a bug?
Surface finish is poor on the start of the cut which is the reason i would like to test chip thinning.

Nope, it doesn't look like it works, does it 🤔

I've opened up CAM-44050 to investigate this, thanks for letting us know!

@csl1016

Ah, Pass Extension prevents the use of Chip Thinning. Good to know, thanks

@seth.madore Search through the CAB, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing some discussion about this a while ago..

Yeah, I recall seeing that thread, but didn't follow it too close. I took a tally of how many channels I'm involved in; 118 separate channels. It becomes rather difficult to keep tabs of what conversation came from where (and when)

So chip thining is working, but can't be combined with one of the default settings, i'd say that's a good reason to create a warning message when combining chip thinning and pass extension since pass extension is enabled by default.

Yep, that's what the ticket I created is about:
"Chip Thinning" does not work when a Pass Extension is defined. Possible improvement to warning or tooltip?"

It looks like algorithm checks stock. I see that "chip thinning" works when "stock offset" is used instead of "pass extension". Cutting paths are not exactly the same but similar.
