Face turning contour issue

hi

i am trying to perform a simple finish turning profile on my part but fusion360 does not like it i guess 😁.

maybe i am doing something wrong. can some one have a look and explain to me what my mistake is?

this is the profile i am trying to cut:

hmmm..., ok i found a solution. i create another sketch that extends the clearance OD and ID and it looks good now.

for some reason fusion360 keeps the profile process until the clearance even if the selected sketch ends. i would expect it to start and end on sketch end and start but it keeps going if the start and end of the sketch is lower than the clearance diameters and then it start making weird stuff like cutting the part.

anyway i include the new working file, maybe it would be useful for someone else.

Hello

You don't need a Contour for Turning, because of the Solid, Fusion recognizes the geometry that needs to be edited.

Hi,

i was talking about the last operation where i use a face turning tool (not groove) to perform the finish profile with chamfers. In my second post i uploaded a project that shows how to do it. In my first post you can see the issue i had with the last process. The grooving part worked just fine.

This can also be easily programmed on the Solid without defining a Contour.
