Exporting thread types from Inventor to Fusion 360.

Hi all,

 

Is there a way to export a model containing threads from Inventor to Fusion 360 in such a way that the model retains the threads when it opens in Fusion 360?

 

We want to avoid having to re-add them before creating the CAM program.

Do you modeled threads, or holes defined with certain information in the hopes of pulling that into CAM?

 

Modeled threads have zero use on the Fusion CAM side. Pretty to look at, but we don't drive our toolpaths from them.

 

For external threads, model the major diameter. For internal threads, model the minor diameter. Use "Pitch Diameter Offset" and adjust to get to the root of the thread

Currently Fusion 360 doesn't have that option but for exception you can use Thread Modeler app in Autodesk app store (free app) Which you can use to create modeled thread in inventor itself then you can directly open it in fusion. Seems Compromising Smiley Wink
