Excessive rotation during simultaneous 5-axis operation

Hey, everyone!

I'm having a bit of trouble with simultaneous 5-axis machining on a Haas UMC500 machine. I'm trying to machine the blue surface from the part above, I'm using swarft operation for that, and simulating it without machine tool. Operation and simulation looks good, but in the machine it starts rotating in one point and gives a bad surface because of that. It seems that this rotation is not really needed. Video in attachment, around 28s, it's without part. I can't figure out how to eliminate that. Is there a parameter in operation, that minimize rotation? Is it a problem with a model, post, machine or all of them combined? Or something else? And is there a way to see this rotation, when simulating without machine tool?

If needed, I'm able to share the fusion file privately only.

Hi

are you using the Plain Swarf toolpath? or Advanced Swarf?

Advanced swarf has an  option to minimize rotary motion

I'm using plain swarft. Don't use 5-axis operations very often, so I somehow didn't even notice there was advanced swarft. I'll try it next time. But is there a way to see axis rotation, without simulating with machine tool?

Not really, you can turn on AXES

But that wont show the rotation necessarily it just visualizes the tool axis at each toolpath point.

Why not just simulate with the machine? It doesn't really take any longer than simulating with out

Maybe I just didn't learn how to simulate with machine properly and constantly get weird collisions, while the program itself is fine. Like this for example:

Tried advanced swarft and it seems the result with and without minimizing rotary motion is identical.

Interesting, there shouldn't be any overtravel warnings based on where the part is in your Video, there shouldn't be a Fixture collision to the B axis either.

If you want to share your file with me privately I can take a look, send me a PM and I'll give you my email address
