Entry point for multi-axis contour is ignored

Hello,

I have been doing the same type of designs, 'trimlines' and usign the same type of tools for the past few weeks, and I am finding that some times the entry point feature of a tool is ignored. And frankly, on average, I really don't understand why it would do that!

I am attaching a fusion file... I would like the path to start at one of the short ends, not in the middle. As a reminder, I follow the same process all the time, and sometimes it seems to work.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous

I've attached a copy of your project. I duplicated your original toolpath so I didn't lose your settings, in the duplicated toolpath I changed to tolerance on the passes tab to 0.1mm. This then changes the start point to your selected point. I will submit a ticket on this to development, I think they are aware of this issue but it won't hurt to add another ticket on the matter. Hope this helps.

Hi @mathew.hutton ,

I reproduced your solution on another model, and it seems to work. Not quite sure why, but thanks for the help 🙂

Hi @Anonymous

Glad this workaround works on your other projects. Not too sure myself why this issue is occurring but I have submitted a ticket to the development teams so hopefully they can look into this and figure out what is going wrong and put it right in a future release

Cheers
