Engraving a wide but shallow logo

I have a project where I am trying to engrave a fairly large logo into ColorCore HDPE.  I would like the engraving to be no more than 0.1" deep (surface color layer is .05" thick, material is 0.5" thick).  Most of the details in the logo are <0.125" (the diameter of the end mill I'm using to cut the contours).  I have a 90deg, 60deg, and 22deg V-bit.  I think some of the details might need the sharp taper of the 22deg v-bit, but it goes WAY too deep to make the wider areas of the logo.

Is there any way to set a maximum depth for the engraving operation in F360?  Should I do a pocket operation with the 60deg v-bit, then do a trace with the 22deg?  I'm really new to CAM and designing tool paths, so any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @wilheldp,

Welcome to fusion 360 forum community and thanks for raising your query onto the forum.

The Engraving toolpath depth can be control by entering the required value in the Bottom Height field under Heights tab of the toolpath form. Please have a look at the small video showing this,

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to write back if you need any further help.

Thanks and Regards

I do want to mention that wide engraving toolpaths are not really supported in Fusion, at least not as Engraving toolpaths. You would need to use a 2D or 3D toolpath to clear away the bulk of material and then come back in with your 60 degree bit to clean up the edges. It's not a pretty or smooth workflow, and it is something the developers are aware of.
