Is there a way to create a point at stock origin? Sometimes it is very handy to be able to measure where in your oversized stock where the model sits for verification of tool set up.

There is a different measure tool in the manufacture workspace that will let you measure from the active setup WCS

You have to select it from the ribbon as pressing "I" brings up the design measure dialog.

It only really measures from the WCS to points or circular edges, not lines or faces

Not quite what I was looking for, but that method does provide selected point location, so that helps, thanks. I am a former long time Mastercam for Solidworks user, and there are things I miss from having used that.

Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but when I need such a point I create either a sketch with that point or a "stock" body in the model. Usually I create a manufacturing model, but sometimes it's helpful just to create it in the design model itself.

If we could create a plane on the WCS, that would be awesome too.
