Control entry point under Fabrication

I'm trying to generate some toolpaths for an EDM using the Fabrication tools and a tweaked post.
The tricky part is controlling the entry point. I can't for the life or me understand how the entry position and lead-in params work in this context.

Some times the toolpath starts from my selected point. Most of the times, NOT. Sometimes the angle makes sense. Sometimes not.

Sometimes the entry point is near my selection. Sometimes is on the opposite side of the part. And I can't see where it will be until I close the dialog. While the dialog is open and changes are made there is no preview of the selection or impact of choices made.

It is not a good think when customizing the post turns out to be an easier task than simply telling the machine which route to take.

Are there any plasma tool related limitations that would explain the entrypoint choice? If so, it would be great to be able to turn such optimization off.

It's hard to tell without seeing the file. Is this something you can share?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

Here's the sample project: https://a360.co/3t8lg9s
What I want is for the cut to start/end outside the part contour, in the selected corner.

It seems to be a function of using Control Comp in addition to the size of your lead-in. Have you considered using a 2D Contour toolpath instead, as that offers more fexibility?

I thought that the entire point of "fabrication" is to make it easy somehow
for me to cut 2D parts. But as of now it just seems to make things
complicated.

I was going to go look for tutorials, maybe there are some best practices
that help getting things done in that space.

A 2D contour used without carefully cleaning all the Z moves crashed our
machine once already. But with a properly tweaked post that may indeed be
the best option.

The Fabrication toolpath is meant for Plasma/Waterjet and laser. I don't think a lot of concern was given to the possibility that someone would use this for an EDM. Although, that seems to be a logical step, imo
