Confining 3d Adaptive Clearing

Guys, I have a part that has some tapered walls on the outside and some pockets and islands on the face.

I would like to use 3d adaptive clearing to rough JUST the outside of the part.

Is there a way to confine that toolpath like that?  I tried using the selection on the geometry tab but that does not give you an option to machine outisde the selection, only inside.

Or is there a better strategy for this?

Thanks,

RMS Machine

Hard to say with no screen shots but try going to the patch workspace and creating patches to cover the pockets then select them under Model on the geometry tab, tick include setup model.

There is a machine cavities option on the passes tab right?

Thanks Hughes and Lauren

I found the Machine Cavities option and unchecked it.  In this case it did exactly what I needed.

Thanks again,
