Chromium Host Executable: This thing is eating my processing power.

Hi, All --

I've been having issues lately with Chromium Host Executable (see screenshot) on my task manager while running Fusion 360. It occurs randomly while I'm attempting to create a new sketch/plane/extrusion/etc on the model tab. If I let the computer sit and think, it takes up to 10 minutes sometimes to execute what I wanted. It could be something as simple as creating a sketch on a new plane.

If I open up the task manager while the computer is "frozen" and end the chromium host executable tasks, the computer goes back to working as normal and my modeling process works right away.

So my question is -- How the heck do I make these three processes go away? I don't know what they're there for and eats literally 100% of my CPU power. I have a brand new computer with a quad-core i7, I should not be having this issue.

Hi -

These are used to manage the presentation of the side panel. Having them take up a lot of cycles would likely indicate something happening there. You can't make them go away.

It *might* make a difference to hide the side panel.

Otherwise, I'd suggest posting your diagnostic logs, and we can have someone take a look to see if anything useful shows up there.

Thanks for the reply, Jeff. When you say side panel, this makes me think my long programs are causing this, considering new part files are generally okay. If I have a program that takes ~20-30 seconds to scroll through, is that what would be causing this issue? Some of the parts I make are extremely large with thousands of holes as well as having small radii that I have to focus on. It all adds up on programming very quickly.

When I say "side panel", I'm referring to the one that shows you projects, folders, and other content.

The "browser" sounds like what you're referring to, which shows your setups, operations, etc.

I wouldn't expect the size of your model to cause any additional activity within the Chromium processes.
