Chamfering with spot drill

I have a "3-in-1" spot drill, chamfer mill, and countersink drill tool shown here:

Severance Tool Catalog 100

How do I set it up so that I can use it for both spotting and chamfering (either chamfer op or contour)?

Hi @denis_vasilescu,

I would save the tool as a Spot Drill, which you can then use in Engrave or 2D Contour toolpaths

Hope this helps,

When I attempt to do that, my spot drill does not show up as a selectable tool. See images below. First image shows the tool in question defined as a spot drill. Second image shows the 2D contour tool selection possibilities. #4 is not allowed. My Fusion360 is up to date.

@denis_vasilescu,

Unfortunately I can't see those images, but I think I can guess what the problem is.

When you select the tool, in the Tool Library you can change the Tool category filters so you can select Hole making tools. You should then be able to see and select the Spot Drill.

This has been a change to the tool library in the last update. The categories default to what tool type is primarily used for that strategy. As Tom says, simply changing the filter on the right hand side of the page will show the tools you can't currently see.
