cant get 3d pocket to cut certain spot

Hi,

attached part is one of many on a 4 foot by 4 foot set up. I create the attached to send to forums for help. Oddly tho, the one 1 exported and created a sample does cut the pocket like I want.

I am using a sketch around part to try to get 3d pocket to cut all contours. this is new for me, yet I have noticed that parts are not done completely by selecting the part. in the parts are remnants of old sketches, i think that prevents the entire selection in pocket

In my larger layout, no matter how I edit the sketch, the area with that the crude arrow is pointing will not be cut by pocket. all else is fine just this area.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong. the part btw is created by modelling one part and splitting into 1.5 depth pieces

The file you shared does not contain any Setups or toolpaths, so.....it's not apparent what you are running into.

I see now that I made a set up error by not selecting body correctly.

Please tell me what max stepover and stepdown should be set for a .5 ball head end mill to cut the walls reasonably smooth. thanks

can you tell me how to take out artifacts in a part? areas of previous operations that show when trying to select 3d pocket.
