Cannot understand how to setup this fillet mill

Hi all,

I'm new in manufacturing and have bought a simple CNC router to learn. My goal is to do the fillet by a single path by a specified tool, instead of multiple pathways by ball end.

Please see attached picture. Two questions.

1. How should I set up this mill? By the way, what is the proper name of such mills? Cannot set up it as a radius mill.

2. Because this mill has a dull tip, how should I set up fusion to do a fillet? I think I should use a trace operation and select a curve, but what is next? Do I need to set the height -6 mm because of a tip? Should I set the axial offset of half a tool diameter (3.175/2) or half the tool diameter (10/2) or the bottom part of it (5.5 / 2)

Thanks in advance

Roman

It looks like that error has an...error. The value needs to be whatever your Tip Length + Radius is, in this case, it's 8mm

To answer your other questions:

1) Why can't you set it up as a radius mill? In your image, everything you're showing points towards that being what it is..

2) For your Toolpath, I would use a 2D Contour. If the radius is modeled on the part, I would select the bottom edge of the contour. You would then put in a Bottom Height offset of whatever your tip length is; 6mm in your example.

3) If your radius is NOT modeled, I would select the top contour and then input a Bottom Height offset of Tip Length + Radius = -8mm offset

Take a
