I have two operations, a 3D-Adaptive and then a 3D-Contour to clean up the walls. The CNC I'm using and is horribly rigid so the goal of the 3D-Contour was to take a light cut and try and keep things to size as much as possible.
The adaptive cut goes very well, with no issues.
Because of the rigidity issue, I don't want the Contour to plunge directly into the stock but to plunge in the already cut out area and then move in sideways at a 45 degree angle to start cutting. I cannot get this to work, it simply will not do it, and only plunges into the stock which causes deflection and rips out material it should not. The lead out is set to the same as lead in... and the lead out does exactly what I wanted...
Sample part attached with the CAM set as I want it, but doing as described above. The real part has 24 of these cutouts in a 2 x (4 x 3) pattern.
Thanks for any help.
