Can't unselect elements

I'm trying to make a chamfer tool path on a part that is using a Brep body (so lots of triangles to click through) but I'm noticing that if I accidentally click on the wrong line I can't deselect it by holding down control (or command I can't remember running on a Mac) and clicking that line. I've tried several other files too and seem to be having this problem in all of them. Anyone else or just me?

You just need to click on the line it should come up with a command for you to ever set it open or closed change the selection useing ALT or bin the selected line.

Alt is the key in windows you use with toolpaths
