I inserted a design into a sketch via an SVG import. The shapes are closed. When I hover over the contour it turns blue all the way around the shape. When I click to add it to the 2D engrave contour list the line goes bright blue except for some segments left in green. I've deleted and started over with the operation and have the same result. I tried selecting the green segments as well to no avail. How can I select the whole contour so I can get this down to the CNC?
Hi @jamesdarrah1, The SVG that you used is extremely heavy with points. It slowed and crashed Fusion on my end, I was able to extract a DXF (from right clicking on sketch 6). Then brought into other software and reduced the point count. This did have an effect on the design but it eliminated the open contour issues that were being created by the many points. I've included a new svg and a Fusion file I was able to re-link your engraving toolpath to the new chain paths, hope it helps.
Hi @jamesdarrah1, I used adobe illustrator in edit under paths there is a simplify command.
Not really, it had a preview feature and I reduced until the vectors started to degrade or change shape and then cranked it back up a smidge, very technical I know. Thing is if it didn't work I could always come back and reduce more just depends on how much time I want to spend. I'm very glad to hear Inkscape has a similar feature.
