Can only select bodies in setup model? need to select a surface group

I am finding myself required to reselect some 40 different faces repeatedly for every new operation in a setup.  I tried to select the relevant faces in the setup options dialog, but it will only select surface bodies, solid bodies etc.  Not selection sets, face groups, nothing else.  Also, none of the selection filter options work at all. It frequently selects the component, for instance, instead of the faces that I want.  I have to very tediously deselect it by clicking once in just the right place.

Its pretty nuts.  Surely this is what the setup model is for? So you don't have to reselect everything every operation. I recall the same problem with hsmworks, which clearly fusion mostly is.

Any ideas on how to get this working?

The Setup function is to designate what bodies or components are to be considered when all toolpaths are Calc, it's not intended to be a place to define what is going to happen at an operation level. For your circumstance, a great workaround is to right click on an operation that has all the features selected and select the "create Derived operation " This will allow you to select another 3d operation and carry over all the selections

My question would be why are you selection a set of surfaces in every op, this is not a standard workflow. If you only have a subset of surfaces selected you risk machining thought parts of the model that's not selected. Can you share a screenshot or a design (f3d file) as your workflow might not be correct. Mark
