Can a project tool library stay synced with a master tool library

Hi all,

Is there a way to sync a project (or 'document') tool library with a current master tool library?

I maintain a master tool library (cloud) which I keep up to date with tool height offsets, conservative cutting feeds & speeds, holder geometry, stick out/body length etc etc. If I need to change a tool (due to wear, changing the stick-out, or moving it to a different holder etc), then do this in the real world, and then jump on fusion and make the same changes there. That way, anyone else referring to this library from that point on is using accurate data.

Note: I also make the changes on the CNC machine. This is normally just the heigh offset, but sometimes the default spindle speed etc as we sometimes use the machine for conversational programming.

The problem is that each project library ends up getting left behind as the master library changes and evolves. My biggest concern is that if someone reduces the stick-out on a tool, updates the master library (and the CNC machine) then I go to run an program with old tool data (ie the old stick out) then I'm risking a collision.

Going into each tool path operation and pointing to the updated tool in the master library is obviously the most mind numbing alternative, but am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

No, this is not currently a feature of the tool library.

You can check the Ideastation to see if it's been submitted yet, and if not please feel free to submit one yourself to be voted on: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-ideas/idb-p/231

There are changes coming to the tool library at some point but I am not sure if this is one of them or not.
