I have 3 areas that need to be smoothed. But when I choose something it goes all over the place or nowehere I need. Is there a way to select the areas in blue and have it smooth them like the 2d manufacture?smooth.jpg

Would you be able to share a copy of the part? You could pick this geometry using boundaries (selecting edges) or using 'touch/avoid' surfaces.

What tool are you planning on using? For the slots, would you want to use a tool with the same geometry and just follow the centreline?

3D adaptive is a roughing toolpath.  You cannot control which surfaces it does and does not touch.  I would recommend using a 3D Contour or a 3D Parallel toolpath to finish features like this.  In the "geometry" tab of either of these toolpaths, you can select a boundary to contain the toolpath and/or select specific surfaces to touch or avoid.
