Today I was running a job with a big block of 4340, The toolpath ran great for about an hour until I heard a noise at the machine and when I check the tool almost all inserts where gone. When inspecting the work piece I notice some material was left on the center and It looks like the that materiel took out the inserts. I have not been able to identify on the program where this happened. I suspe

Fusion has been in development for almost 12 years. But there are still many problems with even the most basic functions. I also wrote a message about a bug, but in vain. There was no response.

Obviously there are problems with the 3D Pocket algorithm. Something is wrong. We are also having problems with 3D Pocket. We are looking at WorkNC and VISI Cam toolpaths, no problem. But Fusion produces very interesting toolpaths. And there are bugs.

3D Pocket and 3D Adaptive are the main functions of the software. These two work before all other strategies. It is really surprising that there are still dozens of bugs.

This is the problem I'm having (but still no answer) ; https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-manufacture/inventor-cam-and-fusion-360-3d-pocket-tool-corner-...

Are you saying that you did specify the minimum helix diameter in your ramping parameters, and it didn't respect that?

If you didn't set a minimum there, then...  it would be a programming mistake, not a software issue.  If it didn't respect your minimum diameter specified, then it's a major bug that needs addressing real quick.

Fusion ignores user input in many cases. The software ignores the user decision.

Some of these are;
1- "Predrill and entry positions" in 3D Pocket is often ignored.

2- "Plunge Outside stock" does not work most of the time even when conditions are favorable. There are dozens of problems and complaints about this. I want the tool to enter from outside but it is not possible!

3- If Tool Corner Radius is greater than 0, Helix Ramps increase. The software ignores the "Helix Clerarence" value...

Definitely be careful when ramping with an indexable tool/non center cutting end mill lol
