Bulk change tool parameter?

Is there a way to change a parameter for all of a tool's cutting data in bulk? I need to change the default coolant type for all tools and changing every line of cutting data one-by-one for each tool is very slow.

Anyone know of a trick for this, please? I have all of my tool library stored in Cloud.

All the best,
Dax.

Hi @daxliniere, while there's no way to change parameters in bulk within the tool library, you should be able to export your library as a CSV and make the change in bulk using whichever spreadsheet tool you prefer (for example, Excel).

CSV export supports multiple presets per tool – they will look like copies in the tool geometry sections but all the lines will share the same Tool Index value in the first column and the cutting data will have different values – so you should be able to go in and quickly update the coolant value (or whichever value) for the presets you want to change.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you run into any trouble and I can provide more detail.

Thanks Martha, that sounds like the perfect solution. Export to CSV, bulk edit with Find-and-Replace, delete all tools and then import the edited CSV. Excellent!

Thank you so much!
Dax.

I'd like to see whoever at fusion is running regular drills at 300sfm in aluminum!

Typically we use 350 SFM as a baseline for HSS drills in 6061 aluminum.. Not here to make fun of you but there are many resources available to help you if you are unsure due to not having much experience.
