Bug? Failure to properly invalidate tool paths and in-process stock.

The attached file contains a simple model for a design and stock. It simulates collision free and the in-process stock is as expected. However, when I open it and *without first going to the manufacture workspace* change the parameters so that the stock is a larger size, then upon going to the manufacture workspace the toolpaths are not invalidated, the in-process stock is incorrect, and the simulation has collisions. Regenerating the toolpaths corrects the collisions, however the in-process stock persists at the original dimensions.

A workaround appears to be, after opening the file, first going to the manufacture workspace and doing something such as changing model visibility which enables the file-save button. After that, changing the dimensions results in invalidated tool paths.

Anybody else seeing this, or have further insight?

Hi @Dave.SendItCNC,

You are right. If you open the Manufacturing environment first and then go back to Design and change some values of sizes the Manufacturing environment will recognize it.

But if you open the file and first start to change some sizes the Manufacturing environment recognizes noting.

@jeff.pek can you forward this to the right development team for investment?

Met vriendelijke groet | Kind regards | Mit freundlichem Gruß

A screencast of the issue is attached.

@Anonymous: I see from your screencast that you are using PC/Windows. I'm using a Mac. Maybe this is a Mac only glitch?

Don`t think it is a Mac issue, I can recreate your issue following your method, however I do things a little differently

Your Stock block is generated from a Sketch, change the size of the Sketch and extrusion, block changes with the Sketch and all works as expected.

For all simple shapes as in your test example I always use the Solids to create the blocks, often using a combination of Solids to get the shape required, making it easier to make changes later

Using that method so there is no Sketch changes to the Solid are carried to Manufacture better IMHO, just seems easier for me

Thanks, Marco, for tagging me. CAM-27901 created. I can see the issue here.

Jeff, it looks like this issue was halfway fixed in a recent update. The in-process stock looks like its now correct, although the toolpaths still don't seem to be getting properly invalidated. -Dave
