Bore Milling op wants to plunge instead of a spiral ramp...

Hola

I'm trying to bore  to clear some stock and it wants to plunge almost to the bottom height instead of following the pitch I give it..... I have messed with diameters, tools, 'threading' instead of boring,' pitch, and every other setting that exists in this command with no luck.

I have had success using a bore hole to clear material out and follow with a 2D contour, since the ramping on that operation never works. So the workaround for my workaround is failing me....

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I would say that you have the top height set incorrectly in the Heights tab, but cannot say for sure without seeing your file.

If that doesn't solve your problem you can upload here for us to look at.

Also best to insert pictures rather than upload as attachments:

Sorry I still really cannot tell what's going on from those pics,

Upload a copy of your file in a reply here.

File>Export> Save as .f3d

But I think its the top height is the HOLE top, which may not actually be where you want to start milling from

@a.laasW8M6T

I have tried to replicate the issue here but not able to so I am thinking it may be an issue with the Model ??

Attached is an example file using both the Bore and the Drill toolpaths to bore out a hole and they both seem ramp down correctly and produce the same code ??

Can you see if it will work for you ?? 🙂

HOLE top was the issue!  Thanks!  I swore I messed with that before, but I have several drawings I have been working on and some worked.
