After Get Updates Browser Tree in Manufacture workspace Doesnt update

I am randomly getting an issue where if I add\remove components in a linked in component and run a get updates, the updated components will display in the design workspace browser but will not show up in the manufacture workspace browser. I have to save the file, close and reopen for them to appear. I was hoping the issue with go away with the latest update however its still occurring. This happens across 3 different PC\laptops and various designs. Anyone else noticed this issue?

Hi @bensbenz,

Have you checked within the Manufacturing environment below the model (see picture below and expand assigned with a circle the Assembly) if the eye (in the past Light) is switched ON for the visibility of that body/component. 618520AC-8045-4755-8BC6-E93E9AF5EFF8.jpeg

Yes, its not that its invisible its that it doesn't exist in the tree at all. Best way to explain it I guess would be, the browser tree in the Design and Manufacture workspace dont match after the get updates is done running. After the update the manufacture workspace is still showing the tree as if no get updates was processed, and only closing and re-opening the file design will get it matching again.

Is this on the same computer that the model changes are done on then updated or change on one computer then update on another?

I have had from one computer to another computer fail to get updates,  I have had to restart fusion on one of them for the updates to show up like you it is random.

Hi Daniel,

No it happens on the same pc, and across 3 different ones as well. I was thinking it was perhaps a laptop vs workstation issue but I have been changing files on the shop laptop and doing the get updates and it happens. I know for the get updates not working across machines, most of the time you have to open each file being referenced on the machine, save and then do the get updates and it will work.

Are you able to share a model in which this happens, along with specific steps to reproduce?

Thanks,

  Jeff

I'd also recommend a ScreenCast of the ordeal so we can fully see what's going on, if this is a problem unique to you.

I cant really share it, it would basically require sharing the entire project with all the different linked files. Next time it happens I will do a screen cast.

Yea next time I see it happen I will remember to do a screen recording to share. It would be too complicated to try and share all the different files its a big project.

Finally caught this bug, and it was even triggered by a get updates. I was simply trying to create a sketch in CAD to use in CAM and it didn't show up in the tree. See the attached screencast in which I tried a few things. An extruded body from said sketch also didn't show up. When I enabled design history in the design workspace it refreshes each tree and then they match. I have had this happen with design history enabled before as well, so maybe turning it off would also cause the refresh but at the time I didnt think to try. Anyways, something is going on with the CAD try not wanting to update.
