Advice on post-processing

Hi all,

We are starting to use Fusion 360 for Lathe CAM targeting a Mori Seiki CL253B lathe with a Mitsubishi Meldas 64 NC control and a single spindle and a rear tool turret.

I’m using the “Mitsubishi Turning” Post Processor and have noticed the ‘type’ setting that selects the active “G-code list”.

How do we tell which G-Code list is appropriate for our control, please?

By reading some of the Post Processor code I can see that the G-Code List ‘type’ values of 2 or 4 or 6 generate a Max Spindle Speed command as a G50, whereas the values of 3 or 5 or 7 generates it as a G92. Our machine needs G50 so that indicates our value should be using a ‘type’ of 2 or 4 or 6, but (without reading through all the code) how do we tell which of those it should be, please?

Also, if there is a better Post Processor that we should use with this type of control, then please shout?

Thanks.

I took a look at the post. I’m not too familiar with it but it says with in the post that 2,4,6 are identical and so are 3,5,7. I’m not sure what’s the point of having three numbers in each then.

Perhaps someone at Autodesk is better positioned to give you a detailed answer - @akash.kamoolkar @boopathi.sivakumar ?
